As an outdoors enthusiast and digital photographer I cherish wandering around places both new and known, capturing photos of nature, especially landscapes of mountains and skies.

I also feel great reward when I point my camera at the people and creativity, special spaces, happenings, and varied scenes that surround my steps.

I hope you enjoy these pictures and stories from moments of my life captured with my camera using some sunlight and seconds of my time.

ABOUT ME

I’m a digital photographer and creative designer based in the Southwest. I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico but have lived in Oregon, California, and Colorado as well.

I like to get outside and carry my camera along the way, enjoy great views, and take pictures. That pursuit has led to many wonderful photos. It has also led to cameras, equipment, computers, software, and beautiful projects that indulge my days.

I currently spend most of my time in Durango in Southwest Colorado; I also spend a good deal of time in Taos and Albuquerque in New Mexico; and a little bit in Ashland in Southern Oregon near California.

This website is a space for me to showcase some of my favorite photos of places, events, and more from around my world. Also check out @andrewgatewoodphotography on social media.

This website is also a place for me to reflect on those images and their experiences, mostly by writing about them but also by exploring them in other creative ways, such as videos, graphics, and art.
